How did you discover/get into Minesweeper?

This thread focuses on sharing your experiences finding about Minesweeper and what was it about the game that kept you playing. Feel free to share them!

In my case, I had known about MS for a while but only got into it during the pandemic (while waiting for an online exam to start to be precise), While it took some time for me to get used to the mechanics, as soon as I got good I just couldn't stop playing!.

It is hard to remember. I remember playing it in high school (which was around 20 years ago) – I was already somewhat skilled then. But I can’t remember anything before. How did it start? How did I learn it? I have no idea

I remember as a kid when we had Windows XP still. I used to press random squares and hope for the best because I didn't really understand the game. Now in uni I got bored during lectures and a random thought came to my mind to play minesweeper, I googled the rules and haven't stopped playing it since.
